      Wondering what significance the "class of '99" part holds, it was actually altered. Originally, it was written for the 1997 MIT graduation ceremony.

      Here is how it actually starts...

      "Inside every adult lurks a graduation speaker dying to get out, some world-weary pundit eager to pontificate on life to young people who'd rather be Rollerblading.       I think some of the other users already have stated that this was written by Mary Schmich.

      I accidently said that it was written for the 1997 MIT graduation ceremony, but it is not true. It was initially attributed as written by Kurt Vonnegut for the 1997 MIT graduation ceremony, as I said before.

      You don't need categorize yourself into one religion or any to believe in God. I certainly don't. Even if none of the modern religions accurately portray the true God (any higher being or force); which is most likely, it doesn't mean God doesn't exist.

      I didn't mean to offend, all I was saying is, "treat others as you'd like to be treated." I definitely believe in God but it's not like it matters if others don't. It's nice to exchange ideas and theories but there's no reason to get upset over this topic as so many people do.

      But here's an opinion that might offend some but I don't care. The people who tell others they'll burn in hell or suffer in the afterlife if they don't join their religion. ROFL idiots. Also, those who preach hatred amongst other people. Yeah, that's brilliant, definitely sounds like something a greater being would want instead of misguided, ignorant people.

      Yes, Baz was accredited for the music single, but a lesser known fact is that the essay 'Wear Sunscreen' (actually called "Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young") was written by Mary Schmich and was published as a column in a newspaper two years before the Aussie director released it as a single.

      This video was done by DM9 DDM (big Brazilian advertising agency) and was intended for internal circulation to their clients, but soon became viral….
      Brazilian media guys Rede Globo also made a video with their own footage.

                      just along with every philosophy taught by every single religion, I hate to be the voice of doom, but saying is not doing, I respect people like the guy talking in the video, it is a shame it all goes to waste because people (even the people who applaud this post and say it is true) will just carry on living the same way.                         tou are on of them, one of us, a normal 21st century person. We so utterly and absolutely believe in our unchanging everyday life that we cannot accept change, nor can we promote it. Inertia = stability is this equation true or false nowadays?
                        Though it is true that people that read this video are probably going to continue their lives as nothing happened,blocking the content of this video from their mind, and maybe they'll fell guilty for not living like they could. But there are people who just need a small nudge to wake up and start living like they ought to. I adored the content and the moral teachings this vid passes , just because it shows that people are in their own little world, unhappy and depressed,whilst they should be carefree and happy. Such a romantic view of life... But it sounds better to me.

                        man... we were A LOT more messed up 100... 1000... 10,000,000 years ago.... geez.... we are in fact better than ever now... its just that thanks to media we are all aware of how bad the bad is... and for the same reason we are getting better and better.... so there is hope... but keep saying there isnt though so we can get better.... its when we admit things are good, that when it will go in reverse....

                        its like that pyscological thing... once you know its a problem it is no longer a problem because consciously on subconsciously you reaslise its a problem and are constantly working to fix it.....

                        So lets all worry about how bad it is still so there is further progression... but also take the time to enjoy the good things, eh!

                      This is the best video ever.Everybody should rank this at maximum.This video made me cry and smile.I cried because i started to remember my familly,my childhood,my chilhood friends and places and Irealised that nothing will come back.But here's the reason i smiled:life is straight ahead and we still have enough time to do all the things we wanted and wished.Yes,we will get old,but try to not die alone.If in my moment of death I will be surounded by my friends and relatives,I will die smiling.
